The faculty of the GVSU Advertising and Public Relations program are leaders in their classrooms, on campus, and in West Michigan. But three of them are currently also offering leadership to the profession at a national level.
Assistant Professor Adrienne Wallace is 2020 chair of the East Central District of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). She has been a board member of the ECD for several years before taking on the responsibility of chair this year.
Assistant Professor Robin Spring is serving as the education chair of the Advertising Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication(AEJMC). She also chairs the division’s teaching paper competition for its annual conference.
Professor Tim Penning is co-chair of the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) committee of PRSA. The committee works to encourage professionals to earn accreditation in public relations and students to earn public relations certification. He is working with a group of GVSU students to be the first to earn certification.
